Sounds stupid but have you read the manual? The Manfrotto head I bought
had a COMBINED 1/4 and 3/8 screw - the 3/8 is a tube that is spring mounted
around the 1/4 so it just slides down out of the way when you screw it into
a 1/4 hole! Clever!
