First: I use two Manfrotto lo-profile #3410 three-way pan-heads on my two
main set of legs. These heads use a roughly 2"x2" QR plate. I also have a
Bogen ball-head for LF which uses a much smaller plate. I am replacing
the
ball-head with something way more substantial and I want to add a
Bogen/Manfrotto QR adapter that will accept the 2x2 plates that the other
heads accept. There is nothing in the current line that does this, but I
am
wondering if there once was. I really want to standardize on one QR plate
and I really like the #3410 heads.
I guess there is a question in there somewhere, anyway it prompts me to
recount what I did with QR plates. I have used the small rectangular
Manfrotto QR system for a long time and have amassed several plates which
live permanently on bodies, telescopes, etc. When I recently got the
wonderful 410 geared head it has it's own special plate - much larger -
and this fouls on the adaptall ring of big 'Ron. Not wanting to mix and
match plates all over the place I found a Manfrotto 323 QR adaptor on
their website, which is a QR base that attaches to a regular 1/4 or 3/8
screw. I fitted this to the 410 plate and now my 410 effectively has the
small rectangular plate. I guess you are looking for something similar
for your 2'' square plates...
Well good luck anyway,
