If I were in your shoes, I'd hold it by the edges, dunk it in Distilled water,
agitate, then lean it up against something to dry. I
wouldn't wipe it with anything. Just let it air dry. Since there are no
minerals or detergent in distilled water it will be
impossible to have deposits.
Back on topic: I think the professional camera repairmen said the best way to
clean a focussing screen is to leave the *&^%# thing
alone! You can blow dust off it with an ear syringe or canned air. Did you
drop it in mud? I honestly don't see how it can get
"dirty". You'll never get "cleaning marks" from an ear syringe.
Those super bright 2-series are going the way of the Chinese Panda: beautiful
to look at but delicate and ultimately, each one is
irreplaceable. My 2-13 is an heirloom now, eh?

Sorry all, but I have forgotten what we agreed was the best way to
clean a focus screen. I washed mine in a weak dish-washing detergent
solution a while ago and dried it carefully. Unfortunately there are
still water deposit marks in the grooves.
I accept that I should have left the screen as it was ( a 2-4 which had
got dirty) , but has anyone kept those posts?
