Keep in mind that I've done fairly minimal adjustment on this - so no
attempt was made to deal with noise anywhere. In addition to which, this
isn't the way one normal sees a digital image...You would normally look
at it in small form on a screen, or as a print. There is NO noise in the
mono prints I did...at least no noise you can see without a loupe - and
people don't look at prints with loupes. Also consider the fact that if
I sent you a full size scan of a 35 mm shot, you'd see grain up the
wazoo - grain is "noise" in out-of-focus areas.

Really sharp where needed, but what do you all think about the
background - look lower and left of Nick's chin on the BIG file? The
out-of-focus areas look so noisy - on print and on screen. I really
don't like it. Or maybe saving as a one-point-something megabyte jpeg

Looking at the large image, it's quite clear that you focussed on the
iris of the man's eye! Amazing.
