The kettles I used in the UK were really fast at heating water. A lot of
people there didn't have decent stoves either. The British made one I
had here in the US was nice, but not as fast as I remember over there,
probably our puny voltage.
Test reports show that home electric ranges beat out home (no I don't
want a Wolf.) gas ranges in speed of boiling water by quite a margin. I
do prefer gas's flexibility and speed of response to changes heat setting.
