I saw a 1.4x Tamron teleconverter on yaBe that was labeled SP. Mine is
only labeled 140F which I've seen several places described as an SP
teleconverter. There appear to be two cosmetically different versions
but my guess is that they are the same optically.
The Oly 1.4X teleconverter works very well with many of the Tamron
lenses but costs significantly more. A significant difference is that
the Oly 1.4x converter extends into the lens that it is connected to,
limiting which lenses it can be mounted to. The front element of the
Tamron 140F is nearly flush. KEH has an "Excellent" 140F Tamron
converter for $69. You should be able to get one for less on yaBe. The
Tamron 140F can only be used with Adaptall 2 lenses since it fits
between the lens and the adapter which makes it inconvenient to put it
in or take it out.

(The newer non-adaptall AF teleconverters are camera specific.)
