Hi B. D.,
English as you probably sensed, is a second ( actually third ) language for
me and I often have been wrong, but this time I am pretty sure that it
sounds like the former.
My reasoning (naive as it is..) goes like this:
To me, what he is saying is that Nikkion has the fix, but Olympus offers the
complete solution (keep in mind that this article targets the advanced
amateurs/pros, I am neither, the reason I understand what he says is this
list...). He's been a die hard Nikion fan all his life and it would take an
exceptional product from a competitor for him to acknoledge...keep in mind,
he does not mention even once Canions...or any other (who also has the
fix)and I think he would not stupidly advise someone very familiar with
photographic tools to buy a lens from another system, just for a particular
application. I do not think I would take him seriously in this case.
Sorry, I am in digest mode and cannot follow the discussion in real time.

Hi, Boris - Does he recommend CHANGING systems, or is he saying that
Olympus is another good system to consider? It sounds like the later.
But of course that, too, is a good thing, given that he is a long-time
official promoter of everything Nikon.
Best,
B. D.

I just skimmed through the article. This company appears to think that
I have super powers...the amount of work left on my desk while on
vacation... Yes, he does appear to promote Nikion (I know I mispelled
it) gear throughout the article. The only other brand recommenced is
Olympus. No other brand is even mentioned, but there is a table at the
end in which he compares lenses from different manufacturers. The
50-200mm from the digital line is there. Here is what he said:
Buy a wider, specially designed wide-angle lens, such as Nikion's
new12-24mm DX lens or lenses in Olympus new D-SLR line. Nikion's lens
is designed to take advantage of the smaller CCD size. Olympus new line
has lenses all designed with the CCD in mind.
A Nikion promoter recommends changing the entire system, it must be
good...
