Right. If Gary Reese can't solve it, with all of the precautions and
experience he brings to the table, what chance do I have?
Maybe a lens like that needs a custom sleeve made of plaster of Paris? And an
astronomer's mount? Maybe the auto diaphram needs to
be removed from the lens too. And a specially modified OM-1 without the
diaphram-driving mechanism.

PPSS. On a poured-concrete pillar, bolted to bedrock. Or maybe just get a
compact telescope and a T-mount because many of these
things have already been adressesed.
