Well, then it may depend on how exacting you are. Looking at Wayne C's
examples, these two shots are interesting:

Personally I prefer the darker exposure, but others may prefer the
lighter one. I wouldn't say either exposure was wrong though. Bracket
1/2 a stop either side of the 'correct' meter reading, and you'll
increase your chances of getting the exposure you want.

My experience with slides is that right from the very start, the OM-1
meter was good enough to give me 950f my slides nicely exposed, and
with a few years now of experience and knowledge, I find that it's very
rare for me to get a badly exposed slide. Are your slides coming out
consistently underexposed or overexposed, or a mixture of the two? If
consistently one way, I'd certainly suspect there's a problem with the
meter.
