Bob asked:
I'm expecting a second T32 in the mail any day. Can I run one off the
hot shoe of my OM-4T and one on a TTL cord from the TTL socket?
-----------------------------------
Sure, dual TTL flashes are my normal flash configuration. When using
the OM-2s with its separate TTL socket I sometimes use a Vivitar 550FD
in the hotshoe and a T-32 on a BG-2. You can connect a 0.3 or 0.6 meter
TTL cord from the camera's cord socket either to the BG-2 or directly to
the T-32. (The latter means that you don't really need a BG-2, any
flash handle will do. I don't typically put batteries in the BG-2 since
I can't get both flashes to charge at the same rate).
If I'm using the OM-2n which does not have a TTL socket I use another
T-32 in the hotshoe and run the TTL cord directly from the T-32 in the
hotshoe to the T-32 or the BG-2.
In modest size rooms I have the hotshoe flash pointed ahead and up for
ceiling bounce. The bracket mounted T-32 is pointed up and off to the
side for wall and ceiling bounce. This typically gives a pretty uniform
light in small to modest size rooms and allows the TTL flash to give
good exposures. I also have a Sunpak that would give me swivel as well
as tilt out of the hotshoe but it's a bit too large for comfort on the
hotshoe. Wedding banquest rooms? Well, that's another story.
