Kathy,
It sounds like you are saying that there are a few black specks on the
glass inside the lens. This is usually not a problem unless they are
real big. Shoot some photos to be sure. My guess is that you will love
this lens. I love mine for portrait work - (it's not a liver nose, but
otherwise the same lens)
