I've never quite accepted this as completely correct. That would mean
that a ghost white goth photographer would meter the same as a tanned
south american. An they both would be the same f stop as a Nigerian.
If all their skin reflectance is different, why would their meter
reading be the same?
the inside of the hand (palm) has no pigmentation, so it reflects about the
same light regardless of skin color.
