It all depends on the shape of the MTF curve. At a given cycles/mm one lens
will
have higher contrast than another, at a different cycles/mm that situation
might be
reversed. Just stating lens A has higher contrast than B but less resolution
is
meaningless. There is no measurement for "sharpness", it seems to be a
qualitative assessment based on contrast and resolution.
