I have and use the 120J ttl, and am generally happy. It has a lot of power
for the price, and can be used with the reflector on, or as a bare bulb
flash, good in many interior circumstances.
It is not the best made flash, though. the asa panel seems to move at an
angle sometimes, and seems to be ready to break, but never has. The module
attachment seems also on the verge of cracking off, but it too remains
normal. The connection with the nicad pack, however, is an embarrasement,
and I have been forced to replace it with a better connector.
The biggest thing is bang (wrong word for a strobe?) for the buck. I, too,
would like to have a Quantum setup, but from B&H the 120J ttl is about $300,
the same Quantum setup is about $1000.
You figure it out.
