Happened to be at computer when John first filed re the eBay spoof.
Filed a 'kneejerk' response re 'DON't EVEN OPEN'. To accent the
intensity of this fraudulent 'spoof' activity which is ongoing, I just
received my third in three days!!! eBay is supposedly seeking to stop
this attempt at 'Identity Theft'. eBay provides links to the Fraud
center at the FTC and Federal law enforcement.
PayPal and other financial sites: Identical activity is being
conducted under the guise of PayPal, Amazon, and other web businesses.
Use caution. Do not open these URLs. Some download spyware onto your
computer. Unlike a virus which crashes your computer, thus providing
identification, spyware remains hidden, uploading your personal
information including credit card info to these fraudulent operators
whenever you are online.
Somehow KK holes seem more sane......

I send all suspect ebay email to:
spoof@xxxxxxxx.
In the last month I have received 4 emails that look very official
asking
for account info. They have veiled threats in them: "your account is
in
jeopardy". I just send 'em off to ebay. Gotten some very nice email
back
from ebay, assuring me that they're looking into the problem.
