You probably saw a big fat marmot on Tioga pass. Robert's picture
doesn't look all that much like a marmot though. The fingers on the paws
are too well developed. The basic body shape is similar. I've also had a
glimpse of what might have been a Martin or similar animal up in the
Sierras. I haven't seen any pikas in a long time. I need to get out
more.
