Why bother with NiCads when you can use Alkalines in the M18v Control Grip?
Otherwise agree with you Walt, save for the PS. Am an old fart. Didn't see
the TV commercial.

Subject: Re: [OM] MD2 vs Winder 2
Quieter? Maybe a little. But that's not the whole story. The
motor drives just sound so much more pleasant, so smooth and
silky, compared to the harsh, raspy sound of the winders. It's
like the difference between the original VW beetle and a V-12
Jag. Think duck and "Aflac" compared to Ms. Knudsen and "Take it
off. Take it all off."*
On the other hand, four AA cells in a winder can last for two or
three years, keeping it always ready to go, and it still gives you
2.5 FPS, even if noisily. The M15V NiCd packs, on the other hand,
even after being fully charged, tend to go dead'er a doorknob in a
couple of weeks, so you've got to remember to anticipate using
them and keep them topped off.
I've got four of each, so I should have no particular
prejudice. :-) Also, when's the last time you needed to shoot at
5 FPS?
Still, I love the motor drives, and that's what I use 90 percent
of the time. They are just way more cool. So, I guess this is
just another case of "Do as I say, not as I do."

*Obscure old fart reference to ancient TV commercial.
