I live about 2.5 hours away, but spent some time working in the area, Never
near the light or the lake shore though. I was doing quality assurance
work while the local land fill was building a cell. Not a beautiful place
at all. As far as the surrounding area, it's a good green time of year as
far as vegatation goes, and there aught to be some nice shots along the
lake etc... The light, having seen pictures of it, at least is worth a few
shots. I spent some time a couple of summers ago photographing
lighthouses, but never that far south.

I'm headed to Michigan this week for my sister-in-law's wedding. In
the travel section of the Dallas Morning News today was an article on
Michigan's lighthouses. The featured site was the Fort Gratiot
lighthouse at Port Huron. I know we've got some list members in that
area, I was wondering how photogenic the area is this time of year. I
don't know if I can make it up there, but it might be a nice side trip
if I can make it.
Any advice?
