There are also 7.5 / 15 degree tele attachments for meters such as
LunaPro F.
Does anyone have any comment on how useful these are?
Since I have a borrowed Minolta Spotmeter F here with me, I'll pass
on some information about it the hope it might be useful to someone.
I don't have a manual for it, so all this is what I have figured out
from using it.
It is a pistol grip unit, fits comfortably in the hand. 1 degree circle
in the viewfinder, readout (f-no or EV) visible in view finder and also
a display on the side. Up and down arrows run through time (1/8000 to
30 sec) or speed (ISO 12 to 6400). Memory set/recall -- one memory I think.
It has S and H buttons that give exposures of what seem to be +2 2/3 and
-2 1/3 stops resp.
It is also a flash meter. My friend uses it a lot for that.
Very nice to use. I've been using it mostly to improve my own intuition of
light values -- set it ISO 100, 1/125 and "spot" f-nos in different parts
of a scene. And compare that with the camera's meter and another light meter.
Quite educational! Also attempting to place values in "zones" following
a sort of zone system.
I don't plan to buy one myself, but I find it a most impressive unit to
use. But then again I haven't used any others, and I'm sure any of the
above mentioned would cover most requirements.
My friend picked this one up for eqv of about $US180.
regards
Andrew
