Boris,
I have a friend who uses PeoplePC for an ISP. She has no complaints, but
isn't a "power user" either. I just switched to Speakeasy.net for several
reasons, one of which is that they are based here in Seattle, near where the
Speakeasy Cafe was in Belltown. It was a funky "wired" cafe where you could
log on to the internet, have a beer and a good sandwich, and listen to
entertainment all at the same time. Unfortunately, it burned a couple
summers back, and all they have currently is an office. They have now gone
nationwide, and have managed to earn a stellar reputation for getting DSL
connections up & running in an average time of four days, which beats the
socks off most of the competition. They stick with you until you are up and
running. I am on only a dialup, but they stuck with me (in the middle of
the night, no less -- a LIVE, friendly, patient, tech person!!!) until my
problem (modem) was fixed. So far, they get an A for customer service from
me, and they are saving me $5/mo. over AOHell. You can pay with credit card
or by check. Get an e-bill or a printed bill in the mail. Try that with
AOHell.
