Aloha Chris
I've been looking at scanners lately (DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400)
Can I assume there is a set default to the scan time?

I have managed to order one of these scanners Cy. Digitalfirst have
them for £499 sterling, whereas the Canoscan FS4000 is almost always
600sterling.
I am not too concerned with using the full resolution of 5400ppi, but I
reckoned it was going to be faster than the Canoscan using USB1.1. I
have grown tired of SCSI, especially as the Adaptec 2906 card that I
installed in my Mac G4 seems to cause various problems. The Minolta
connects with either USB2 or Firewire and should blend in nicely with
my system.
Now, if only I could take some decent, marketable photos....
