Personally, I would prefer to have an adequately designed lens which had
no barrel distortion than throw away the resolution that digital
correction by interpolation inevitably produces. Its not as if this is
a huge format that requires extreme measures to correct distortion at
the frame edges. The 4/3 format has been selected because it is a cheap
focal plane option - digitally correcting barrel distortion is similarly
a cheap option and both have their drawbacks in terms of the actual
results you end up with.
