Stephen Gandy at www.cameraquest.com knows ALL about 'F' finders and
even has someone who can fix the 'ring resistor' problem in these
finders - not cheap tho' but anyone else will tell you that it can't
be done - he'd be the person to ask about suitable replacement
batteries or other workarounds.
He has a page under Classic Camera Profiles on the 8 different
variations made for the F - http://www.cameraquest.com/nfinder.htm
Andrew >A friend in LA said she's taken her "F" to several shops and can't find anyone to replace the seals and tune the shutter because... they are all 'afraid they'd break something and don't have any parts'. Sounds completely wrong to me, like she took it to "Best Buy" or something. LamaI think you're right, I don't think there are any problems getting the F body serviced. I believe there are virtually no parts to replace the bits that normally give up in the FTN finder though. ...Wayne < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > < This message was delivered via the Olympus Mailing List > < For questions, mailto:owner-olympus@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > < Web Page: http://Zuiko.sls.bc.ca/swright/olympuslist.html > |
