Yeah, that's the problem for the Zuikoholic. If one doesn't draw the
line at foreign glass, the problem becomes much simpler. The Tokina AT-X
35-200/3.5-4.5 and Vivitar 19-35/3.5-4.5 make an extremely effective
light kit. The Tokina provides decent close focus to 1:4. The Tokina is
only modestly hefty and the Vivitar weighs almost nothing. I would also
carry a 50/1.4 and Vivitar Macro Teleconverter to cover low light and macro.
There is no such elegant solution with Zuikos. I just picked up Tom's
NIB 35-105/3.5-4.5, which may help, maybe with a 24 or 28mm and a 135 or
200mm? I can't see getting a 28-48/4 when I already have the Vivitar for
wide zoom range and a Tokina AT-X 24-40/2.8 for fast and wide. I think
24-40 is a more useful range than 28-48.
I would carry the Velbon 343 and no cable release.
The 35-105/3.5-4.5 is really an attractive lens and looks just perfect
on a black OM-4(T(i))!
