Muskegon, Michigan.

That happened on Friday, I was there on Saturday. However, the
wife of my best friend happens to be one of the organizers of
the event. Got all the inside scoop on everything.

Who knows what was going through his head. But it is
interesting to see how much variation there is between pilots at
these events. You have those that are "professional show
pilots" and those that drew the "air-show" assignment for the
weekend. The professional air-show guys have a very specific
routine that is crisp, colorful and exacting. The other guys
just do a bunch of high speed passes, tight turns and rolls. If
you can't fly an impressive routine, just use the afterburners
and point the tail at the audience.

The CF-18 pilot did a professional show routine. It was
definitely a choreographed demonstration. At no time was the
plane ever doing a flat and level. It was always doing something
that made you go "wow".

I've gotten jaded through the years of watching air-shows. As
impressive as the Blue Angels were, they take way too long to
setup a stunt. The Eagles Aerobatic Team was my all time
favorite "team"--but I don't know if they perform anymore.

I did take a few pictures, but know from past experience to save
my film for a few other things. I've got hundreds of pictuers
of air-show routines. This year, I did take some really cool
shots of the Blue Angels flying in front of the sun.
