To me, this just reinforces my sentiments about Oly Management. The
issue is NOT that there isn't a market for this type of product (this
list proves it, The success of the Leica R series proves it, Tom's
trading proves it, do I need to go on ?) but rather that they don't know
s**t and don't care s**t to learn about how to serve that market
(however small it may be) and make a profit from it. On a larger scale,
that would probably be considered a going out of business strategy (and,
as far as 35mm chemical Pro Cameras are concerned, Oly's market position
today proves my thesis to be right)
IMNSHO it would have been commercially viable to continue the OM system.
Considering the last Interview with Mr. Maitani, they had some neat
stuff up their sleeve but got caught up in the P&S market (bigger,
agreed - but what about longevity of customer relationships etc ?)
Well, it's not going to happen.....
bests, Jan

Olympus has had 30 bids on the 250 mm f/2 up for auction. Current
price: $1,913, 26 bids on a 1000 f/11, currently $1,380, and 26 bids
for the 90 f/2, currently at $1,127. All of these auctions have about
22 hours to go.
Maybe Olympus will reconsider abandoning the OM community?
HA, HA! NOT!
