Too clever for my own good.
Can't choose f8 for flash with the XA unless you actually want a blurry
available light image with a correctly exposed flash image
superimposed on it.
I forgot that even with the flash on, if you move the aperture lever off the
"flash" setting, you get an auto-available light
exposure.
As someone already noted, the shutter speed is "locked" as you release the
shutter so it's completely unaware that the flash is
adding light.
So, I'm stuck with flash pictures at f4 but the diffusion still help the dark
corners.
