Yes, it would give you a stop's reach further. If your meter is at 1/60 at
f32 and you need f22 for the fill ratio you want, you can switch to 1/125
and f22 with manual flash and get what you want. Since this is entirely a
manual process anyway, the OM2000 is perfect.
Incidentally, a wonderful sort of flash to use in this situation is the
Sunpak 433 (and other Sunpaks) because you have five choices of manual
output (full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, and 1/16) with a good calculator panel to mix
and match.
