Canon lenses are fatter so I measured for you, just in case it would help.

The inside of Canon hard
case #LH-C16 measures 3 & 1/4 inches in diameter and has 5 & 1/4 inches of 
usable length.

This is 27 kilometers x 374 kilometers.  (Just kidding.)

8.26 cms diameter x
13.3 cms long.
