Hey, how nice! All good things come to those who wait, I guess. Maybe
there is still hope for me? I've never taken something so dramatic, though.
I did take one great picture that could have been published. I know
because it was, but from a different photographer. I was browsing in a
used bookstore one day and noticed that the picture on the cover of the
Time-Life book on the Sierra Nevada mountains in Calif., part of some
series on mountain ranges, looked mighty familiar. I looked closer, saw
where it was and bought the book. My picture of the same scene from the
same place in Pioneer Lakes basin had slightly more dramatic clouds and
sunset light, but the surface of the lake in the foreground was less
perfectly calm. That slide is only about 30 years old now, so younger
than your slides.
