Dan,
I don't have a motor drive and have never used the Winder 2 when doing
it. Always manually wound it to the next frame. Don't know why I'd use a
MD or Winder unless there was a compelling reason to remote it some
distance away.
I do use a locking shutter relase cable that automatically locks itself
when the plunger is depressed. There's a ring around the base of the
plunger that depresses to release it. The ring can also can be depressed
and rotated into a position to defeat the auto-locking mechanism.
