Ok, I'm about to come unglued here. I've had far more problems
with an OM-1md and OM-2md in the cold than I ever did with my
OM-2S and OM-4. My Om-1 jammed, tightened up, misloaded and
about every other mechanical failure you can think of in the
cold. And how about the fact that the shutter mechanism gets
less accurate the colder it gets.

Get real. OM-4Ti not suitable for cold-weather conditions?
This is a PROFESSIONAL camera body we're talking about. Put the
right batteries in it (fresh doesn't hurt) and don't worry. No
matter how cold it is, you're not going to drain a set of 357s
in a few hours of exposure unless you're shooting roll after
roll with a MD2.

Biggest problem I run into is the focus rings of the lenses.
They get so stiff that it's pretty difficult to focus.

Side note: I'm not a fan of carrying the camera under the
parka. This is a very damp environment and moisture tends to
condense and get sucked inside the camera everytime you expose
it to the outer air and put the cold camera back underneath
again. On rare occasions I do this, but not often. Most of the
time, if it's super-duper cold I rubber band a chemical
hand-warmer to the camera and toss a couple into the camera bag
to keep the lenses limber.

The key, is to make sure you are using the right batteries.
Period.
