Dear All,
I am the one that starts the thread. I am not a professional
photographer. For everyday photos, I prefer the point and shoot DC. In
these days, I use my SLR mostly for shooting celestial objects.
I do not require AF lenses as my prime interest is in imaging the
stars. For that, I set the focus to infinity and no AF can do it for me in
the dark. I also shoot the moon, sun and the planets. I couple the camera
to my telescope for that.
Kurt pointed out to me that the new Digital Zuiko lenses are designed to
cope with the CCD that the E-1 uses. The CCD that E-1 uses have tiny
lenses over the pixels and that requires the light beam to be as square on
to the CCD surface as possible. That will require new lens designs for
most of the wide angle and standard lenses that have rear lenses close to
the focal plane. However, most long focal length lenses will deliver the
light beam almost prependicularly to the CCD and so they meet the requirement.
