Bits and pieces:
I have gone on a MF "spree" lately, mostly looking for a bigger neg than my
Hasselblad gives me<g>. I tried the Fujis, the Koni-Omega and the Pentax
6x7, all of which were fun, but came back to my Hasselblad. Talk about
"OM-like!" Simple, all metal, great glass, built like "an OM." Lots of
lens choices, lots of film-back choices (as well as formats), and tons of
gadgets (think winders, viewfinders, spirit levels!).
The Fuji and the P67 are HUGE. The Fuji has a fixed lens (at least the one
I used, a 690sw or some such thing). I bought the Pentax, decided that it
was too big to carry and ended up not using it very much since I had the
Hasselblad stuff in the studio. The Koni-Omega (to me) was about the
gawkiest, most ungainly thing I had ever held in my hands (it took two!),
polar opposite from the OMs.
How about a vintage folder? Might work for you.
On another topic, what is the difference between the 2x and the 1.4x
extender (apart from the .6 obvious, smarty-pants!!) I found a reasonably
priced 2x and have seen more of them for sale. The 1.4 seems rarer and
pricier. But is there a quality (glass) difference. Probably less stop
loss, but is the 2x "bad" for any reason?
Inquiring minds want to know.
