Maybe my eyes are particularly poor to adapt to the mirror lenses, but I
find the Zuiko 600 quite a bit easier to use than the f8 and slower
mirrors. With the Zuiko after focusing I can stop down which helps
reduce focusing errors. With the mirrors what I thought I saw all too
often isn't what I get.
The mirror lenses are so much easier to carry though, I've got several,
and if I could ever leave the Tamron home, I'd learn how to use them (I
hope).
The latest mirror I was testing/toying with was a Celestron 750mm f6. I
don't have the film back but it seems to work with a split image finder
and seemed to be almost as easy to use as a refractor. The image in the
viewfinder suggested the contrast is probably low, but the corrector
plate on the mirror lens had a haze on the inside. Unfortunately the
diameter is too great to make it easy to pack. It's pretty light weight
though.
