And it's not just any silvernose, it's serial number137xxx, even a
little older than my original one. I think there are later 50/1.8
silvernoses that aren't bad, but those very early ones are really soft
by current standards. This is probably within the first 50,000 50/1.8s
made, counting those made for the 'M' versions before the name change
and production of silvernoses went on for about 700,000 more lenses
before they changed to the black nose cosmetics. Single coated
production continued on for at least another 750,000 units before they
went MC. Ref.

unintentional collection of 13 or so 50/1.8s from 149,xxx through
5,814,xxx. I think they are multiplying locally now that they aren't
coming in as bodycaps on bodies.
