> The OM-G is the best value/$ OM body.
I agree. The ultimate backup OM. It's also got to be the lightest. And
with the self timer you get mirror (OK, half-mirror) and aperture
pre-fire. I think it's also like the OMPC/40; when it's "OFF" you have
the full range of auto shutter speeds at the ready (only some on the
OM-2). Always wanted to see how long I could make a set of batteries last
shooting like this.
Getting deeper into trivia, it has the smoothest shutter speed ring (Also
like the PC/40) . . . I mention this only because the rings on other OM's
can be prone to stiffnes, a fingernails-on-the-blackboard
grinding/scraping, or in the case of my OM-2S, complete lockup. I also
like not dealing with (losing) the MD cap. And one of these days I want to
put a Motor Drive on it to see how fast an econobox OM can go.
Finally, you can put a 50/1.8 lens on it, take it anywhere and expose it
to the most outrageous risk without fear or hesitation. A great little
camera.
