My instruction sheet shows the same thing. I've never tried that combo,
as I don't think I can hand hold something that long and heavy at 600mm
and there is no tripod mount on that lens. I tend to use the Tokina
150-500/5.6 for that range, a bit heavier, but faster and with a good
tripod mount.
I just tried it out and it appears they are serious. I can't quite see
why, it doesn't appear to be the depth of the rear element, but maybe.
In any case my 1.4x adapter won't fit on the 60-300. Since it was
sitting there, I tried it on the 35-135/2.8, which is too recent to be
on the list, and it won't fit that lens either, because of the depth of
the rear element.

I will soon be taking delivery of a Tamron Adaptall SP 60-300mm F3.8-5.4 Macro Zoom (23A) lens. I have a Tamron Adaptall SP 1.4x teleconverter (140F). The 140F's instructions include a table that shows the resulting focal lengths when their teleconverters are added to their lenses. However, the box that represents the combination of the 140F and 23A lens has only a horizontal dash.
Any idea on whether these two pieces are compatible?
