metal "lip" on the rear of the grip is just too wide to fit into the slot on
the connector which has plastic molded edges which stop it going in. For the
connector that does fit, the metal lip is a very snug fit. The extra width
(interference) is probably smaller than I originally thought maybe less than
0.5mm, so it is possible this is just a tolerance stack up, rather than a
"different connector". The other devices like the Intervalometer,15V pack etc
have a slightly narrower metal lip and hence fit easily. The only way to make
the M18 fit this connector would be to use a file on the metal lip or a dremel
