I have no numbers to back me up, but my experience with the two is that any
differences in sharpness are small, smaller than a variation from lens to
lens in manufacturing tolerances. There has been considerable discussion
about the older silvernose lenses being a bit 'warmer' and, to some,
visually pleasing.
In the end, I think either version will take wonderful pictures.
Best to just buy both :)
