'tis true, but only until they oxidise. Beryllium is best overall, but doesn't
provide the look required by modern consumers. Gold plating of contacts is mere
artifice in most cases. Unfortunately, in the heavily BS infested audio market,
artifice sells, and gold plating is probably the least damaging and obnoxious
artifice in that particular town.
