But what was sent was NOT a legal HTML document. By strict interpretation, any
email client that DOES display it "properly" is broken! :-)
Just playing devil's advocate here... the fact remains that so-called "HTML" is
such a slippery target that one cannot expect any given email client to behave
well with it.
Personally, I have a filter that sends any email containing <HTML>...</HTML> to
the trash. That gets rid of about 900f spam. Lacking this REQUIRED tag, the
example was NOT proper HTML, and slipped by my filter.
