Provided you don't need significant astigmatism correction, you should be
adjusting and using the OM-3[ti]/OM-4[T] viewfinder dioptric correction
*without* corrective lenses. That's the whole point of having the
adjustment. For other bodies, correction worn or used, either on the eye
or the viewfinder should be for "distance" viewing. The viewfinder is
designed optically to effectively put the focusing screen several feet in
front of the eye.
To set the dioptric correction:
1. Take off glasses
2. Remove lens from body
3. Look through viewfinder
4. Adjust correction and center it for sharpest viewfinder display.
5. Put lens back on and verify setting by focusing on a good contrast edge
using the micro-prism ring around the center spot (1-13 or 2-13 screen have
this ring). Focus should be fairly clear and dramatic with the contrast
edge looking jagged (following the microprism pattern) even when slightly
out of focus.

Hi Folks,
Last year, I went on a photo tour that was really intense in terms of
shooting, I shot over 50 rolls of film most being with the OM4, but also
a MF RF as well. Toward the end of the tour, my right eye became so
exhausted, I had to switch to the left for shots. Not, only do I wear
glasses, but they are progressive as well. Prior to the tour, I had never
experienced this before! My question is, for those who wear glasses
(particularly progressives), how do your OM4 (or 3) diopter correction
for minimal eye fatigue? Possible, it might be a good aidea to not use
progressives, but a particlar single vision lenses optimized for a
distance X? Or am I asking the impossible and should consider AF for the
next heavy shooting foray?
Thanks.
Alex
