I just developed some HP5 that I'd shot backlighting stuff on. Now, I
guess I was going overboard, but I did this series where I was shooting
through an old 30's glass syringe with a 350-watt quartz flood behind
it. I bracketed a range of exposures and when I processed the film just
now I noticed that the hot spots of the backlight bled outside the
frame on several shots. Is that common? It kinda threw me. I thought
for a second that the film had gotten fogged somehow as I was loading
it and then I realized that it was just between those frames. In one
case the bleed was enough to interfere with a landscape on the next
frame. Pretty amazing.
