Dealing with the wife is easy. Just let her have her little indulgence also.
Mine got her snoot full of wine at a wine fair last week and bought lots of
"junque" at auction. At least each thing came with a nice bottle of wine. I
figure the wine cost about $60 per bottle but it's a donation so will be tax
deductible. Being able to compare the value of my Oly purchases with her
junque purchases is priceless. Bankruptcy to follow shortly. /jim

I think if you go on about it enough your spouse/partner get used to it,
mine did pretty quick! Soom fool :) decided to open a photographic shop
three doors up from my house, their used OM gear placed prominently in
the window (There's a nice 500mm Tamron catadipotric in there at the
moment for #190 but that's another story!). Every night without fail my
girlfriend slows down outside the shop just so I can have a look. I
think I've got her convinced! Now to convince her that shelling out my
life savings on a nuclear bunker is a good idea.......
