Thanks for your thoughts, Mickey, but I have managed to answer my own
question. A look at the B&H web site tels me the E20N has a 62mm filter
size whereas the C-5050 has none (CLA-1 lens adapter tube required for lens
accessories). It seems like one only needs to match the CLA-1 (43mm front
diameter) with the appropriate step-up ring to add the TCON-300. In
particular, one would require a 43-62mm step-up ring to accommodate the
TCON-300.
The C-5050 employs a 7.1-23mm (35-105mm 35mm equivalent) lens with an
aperture range of f/1.8-f/10. With the 0.8x wide angle converter, you have
a 28mm lens at the wide end. With the 1.45x TC, you are up to 152.25mm
(~150mm) at the tele side. With the 1.7x TC, you have a 178.5mm (~180mm)
tele. The 3x TC would yield a 315mm tele.
The new C-5050 is decidely at a lower class than the E20N, but in many
respects it seems to be the better overall, more versatile camera. If this
is suppose to whet our appetites for a more professional offering later on,
this user is hooked! ;-)

John, I don't have the data, but I would guess not. The E-10/20 lens barrel
is significantly larger than any of the C models.
