Maybe we need to stock up on film to archive all the digital photos we will
be taking. That way we will still have them available in 50 or more years. :-)

"Digital film" is a bit of a disruptive technology, and though regular film has many years ahead of it and companies will continue to enhance it for at least a while, I see it disappearing from the consumer marketplace surprisingly quickly.
