[OM] More Americanism stuff (reply to George)

I agree re Doro's remark, though I thought it was addressed quite appropriately (witness my reply). While I can't say I enjoyed reading the implication of Doro's remark (clearly to the war at hand) I'd rather let that sort of stuff stand--again, to support this list's sense of community, to allow members some latitude of expression in general, etc.

John and Julie's message I also support, as well the right (and need) for this list to entertain such back-and-forth dialogue.

As for my "oblique" writing: well, let's just say my reading and writing skills are not of the national-average eighth-grade or sixth-grade or whatever-it-is level; neither have I intention to write down to whatever the average happens to be on this list. I use English as best I can. If I commit a typo or error of usage and it bothers you, by all means speak up. I can take that. If you try to gag me, though, for my views, I'll cut you off at the knees.

Sound like a deal?

He already did, did you miss it?:

Guys,

Just to wrap up the OT chatter once and for all:

        1) Teachers are paid a salary. Some think it is too little, some
think it is OK, some think it is too much,
        2) Some teachers are good, some are not,
        3) Tom is probably a good teacher,
        3) There is a war in the works. Some agree with it, some don't,
        4) We all drive different cars - except those of us who don't,
        5) Outlook is an email client

Can we go back to talking OM-stuff now? :)

And if I misinterpreted your reference to 'a certain person who spoke last
night' to be a slam at the President, perhaps you should be less oblique in
your phrasing. Frankly, I'm sick of the off-hand remarks that some people
are tossing into their otherwise somewhat on-topic posts. Another example is
the first one from Doro quoted at the bottom of this message.
