Will this work? Use same lens and linear polarizer on an OM-1 or OM-2
then switch lens and polarizer to OM-4 and make a center weighted
reading. The difference is the "error" factor for the linear polarizer
with the semi-silvred mirror. Then make your spot readings, average
these and then apply the "error" factor just computed. Whether this
works or not I suppose depends on whether there are dramatic differences
in polarization in those areas seen by the spot vs the average.

I'm going to be using a 77mm linear polarizer soon, likely with an OM-4
most of the time. Since I prefer to do multispot averaging, I believe
that I am going to need to meter the scene and then open up by the
appropriate filter factor for a polarizer, which is about 1 and 1/3 stops.
