Greetings All,
I have one of these gizmos (heating rod) attached to
the inside of my son's piano. I can't give any specifics
as to wattage, etc. but it works by gently heating the
air inside the piano to drive off moisture and decrease
RH. I must admitt I've never used it because here in the
lowcountry of South Carolina we have two seasons: air-
conditioning (about 8 months) and heating (about 3
months) which leaves one month with comfortable temps and
low RH (usually March or April). Hint: guess what month
begins tourist season?
The above reason is why I've never had a lens fungus
problem in the humid South. After shooting on a hot,
sticky Summer day, I come inside, cycle the focus
mechanism a few times on the lens and the AC takes care
of the rest.
